Board of Directors
Forward Fairview Park is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our current Board is comprised of a mix of Fairview Park residents and local business owners.
Josh, his wife Kathleen, and their two children have lived in Ward 3 of Fairview Park for three years. He joined Forward Fairview Park in August of 2015 because he wanted to help improve the Lorain Road Corridor and keep Fairview Park a great place to live and raise a family. Josh graduated from Kelleys Island High School, is an Air Force Academy Graduate, and served as a Communications Officer in the United States Air Force for five years. He also has a Masters degree from Webster University.
Laura and her husband Dave have been Fairview Park residents since 2012, however, Laura grew up in Fairview and has always called it home for the greater part of 30 years. Laura and Dave recently welcomed a baby boy to their family and are excited to begin their own family’s chapter in Fairview. Laura joined Forward Fairview Park to give back to the community she loved growing up in, and to help others see just how special it truly is. Laura has a B.A. in Marketing and Promotions from Bowling Green State University with a focus in Promotions and Advertising. She currently is a Program Manager for Medical Mutual’s Mutual Appreciation Program, an award-winning customer-loyalty program. Laura has more than 10 years’ experience in Marketing, a passion for cooking and family, a love of animals and walking in the Metroparks, and an interest in the career advancement of women.
Matt Hrubey, Chair
Matt and his wife Alicia have been Ward 1 residents of Fairview Park since 2013. He currently serves as a Senior Consultant with Grants Plus, a fundraising consulting firm that partners with organizations to elevate their grant programs. Matt developed his passion and refined his grant writing and coordination skills during job stints with both the City of Fairview Park and Cuyahoga County. Matt received his B.A. in Political Science from Mount Union College and his Master of Public Administration from Cleveland State University, where he specialized in City Management. He also currently serves as a member of the Fairview Park Board of Education.
Kyle Maurath-Petras, Vice Chair
Kyle and her husband, Jeff, chose Fairview Park in which to buy their (hopefully) last home in 2012 after being east, west and south siders, noticing the great community assets, accessibility and proximity to the parks. She started attending the Forward Fairview Park meetings in early 2016 and quickly escalated her involvement to support the mission of improving the Lorain Road Corridor, by drawing out its identity and enhancing the potential as a destination business-entertainment district for Fairview Park and surrounding communities. Ky has 20 years of experience in health care administration, most recently in the Cerebrovascular Center at Cleveland Clinic. She spent six years in business start-up operations and fund development with ShoreBank, and has significant experience volunteering with youth and community organizations. She’s a Villa Angela graduate, a proud West Virginia Mountaineer, and avid supporter of all things CLE.
Joe and his wife Meghan are empty nesters residing in North Olmsted but the McDonough family moved to Fairview Park in 1963. As one of the current owners of Gunselman’s Tavern, he has a vested interest in seeing the Lorain Road Corridor become a destination for not only Fairview Park residents, but from surrounding communities as well. Joe graduated from Fairview High School in 1986, worked in the hospitality industry for several local and national chains and then spent the last 20 years working in the motorsports industry, first as the General Manager of HMF Engineering in Brook Park and now the eCommerce company, RPO Powersports.
Todd Smith, D.C.
Todd and his wife Laura have lived in Fairview Park for 13 years. They have three children in the Fairview Park City School system. Todd has owned and operated Fairview Park Chiropractic Center, located in Fairview Shopping Centre, for the past 14 years. Todd attended the University of Akron and graduated from Logan University with his Bachelors of Science in Human Biology and his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree.
Andy has been a resident of Fairview Park for three years and resides here with his wife. He brings to Forward Fairview Park his background in digital marketing and advertising, as the owner of Tabar Media and through his entrepreneurial ventures. Andy received a B.B.A in Entrepreneurship from Belmont University and he is an active supporter and mentor for youth entrepreneurship education. You can find Andy frequenting local Fairview Park and area small businesses.
